The Mauser M25 Max is a fast straight-pull hunting rifle combining smooth cycling, a stable construction and an ergonomic laminated thumbhole stock. The specially treated beech laminate provides excellent rigidity and a comfortable shooting position in demanding field conditions.

The Mauser Spread Lock 250 system uses two substantial locking elements to provide secure locking and exceptionally smooth bolt operation. Its direct trigger is adjustable from 700 to 1,700 g, while the plasma-oxidised metal surfaces improve resistance to wear and corrosion.

The .308 Win version features a 51 cm barrel with a 17 mm contour and an M15×1 muzzle thread for a compatible suppressor or muzzle brake. Its detachable polymer magazine holds three rounds, with an optional five-round magazine available.
