Helle Nordlys – a compact and versatile full-tang knife

The Helle Nordlys was created as the ideal all-purpose outdoor knife. Even before the launch of the Nord, we knew we wanted to create a smaller sibling – and so Nordlys was born. In Norwegian, Nordlys means Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis), and lys translates to both "light" and "brightness."

Nordlys retains all the innovative features of its larger sibling but comes in a much more compact and lightweight package. With a handle length of 124 mm, it is 1.3 cm shorter than the Nord, yet offers ample space for a forward grip for fine cutting as well as a rear grip for chopping.

The blade mirrors the Nord’s design, featuring a slight drop-point shape and a classic Scandi grind. It measures 122 mm in length – similar to most traditional Norwegian outdoor knives – and is made from tough, stainless 14C28N Alleima steel with a thickness of 3.1 mm.

At just 210 grams, Nordlys is surprisingly lightweight and perfectly balanced for a full-tang knife. It comes with a genuine leather sheath.
