The 100 mm blade is made from XC90 high-carbon steel, known for its excellent strength, easy sharpening and long-lasting edge retention. As carbon steel is not stainless, the blade should be cleaned, dried and lightly oiled after use to prevent corrosion.

The iconic Virobloc® safety lock securely locks the blade in both the open and closed positions for safe use and transport. The varnished beechwood handle provides a comfortable grip and preserves Opinel's traditional design.
